MidtownAtlanta.US was started by a few midtown residents to meet the need for a single website that contains not only links to everything that exists elsewhere on the Web about midtown, but also a picture album of interest to the residents and friends of the area.

One of our goals is to provide high quality images, both historical and current. This means that many of the pages on this site will load slowly if you are using a dial-up modem. Where useful, we are providing 2nd copies of images, significantly larger and more detailed than the first. After spending a few years running another similar site for a different community, also as a hobby, we clearly found that the higher quality images are appreciated and get higher hit rates than the small images still typical on the Web.

Last but not least, contributions of material to publish are very welcome. We can provide you with credit for any contributions, or publish your material anonymously. We have the right to decide not to publish any material provided, but will make a sincere effort to publish any pictures or text in keeping with the spirit of this site..
