As an aspiring young chef, Shaun Doty traveled the world in search of culinary
inspiration. From Venician cafes to Parisian brasseries, Chef Doty developed a
passion for the artisan craftsmanship of simply prepared good food. Today, he
uses the freshest seasonal ingredients in simple preparations and savors the
bounty of every region with MidCity Cuisine, an American Brasserie in the heart
of Midtown at 1545 Peachtree Street.
MidCity Cuisine celebrates the true brasserie spirit by being open for
breakfast, lunch, dinner and all day dining. Businesspeople can pick up
croissants and coffee before the workday. Some will spend the morning reading
magazines and newspapers at the bar while others come in for a business lunch or
to enjoy a leisurely afternoon meal. The evening finds revelers at the bar
enjoying fresh-sliced cured meats and cheeses with wine or cocktails. Diners
pour out onto the patio and into banquettes and tables in the dining room,
grazing on antipasto plates, cheese, simply prepared entrees and enticing
desserts.
Chef Doty is joined by a top-notch team of culinary professionals
including Sam Governale, who spearheads the thoughtful and provocative wine
list. The dynamic program is regionally driven featuring boutique and seasonal
wine selections. The bar maintains a relaxed atmosphere, where patrons can
enjoy beer or wine with an all day menu.
The Johnson Studio spearheaded the simple facelift to the 8,000
square-foot space. A sleek, modern European café design showcases 150 seats
inside, a 50-seat private room and 60 seats outside. The restaurant
accommodates parties up to 275. The bar is expanded with café windows to front
Peachtree Street and café tables and chairs for al fresco dining.
Chef Doty incorporates seasonally influenced, regionally grown
ingredients in simple preparations for MidCity Cuisine's affordably priced menu
featuring $6 to $14 entrees at lunch and $16 to $18 entrees at dinner. MidCity
Cuisine is open for breakfast and lunch weekdays, dinner nightly and brunch on
